Nijo-jo*二条城
Press the button and you will have explaination in 4 languages: Japanese, English, Mandarine and Korean.
Nijo-jo, or Nijo Castle was built in 1603, residence of the first Tokugawa Shogun Ieyasu. The highlight will be always Ninomaru Palace*二の丸御殿, classified as National Treasure by Japanese Gorvernment.
Walking in the rain...:p
Basically the palace consist of different chambers for different occasions: Reception Room, Imperial Messenger's Room, First to Fourth Grand Chamber, Minister's Office, etc.
Other then it's fine building architecture & screen paintings, what i like most was the famous Nightingale Floor!!!
Designed to creak and squeak whenever walked upon, the floors prevented anyone from sneaking around in the castle without being heard, even if they were in bare or padded feet. One of the many ways to thwart the deadly ninja - assassins, trained to sneak up and commit their dastardly deeds completely silently.
Imagine you are in this position, watching your troops marching to wars...(although this is not the main gate:p)
Walking in the beautiful garden and landscape was equally fastinating. I know that i couldn't stay long enough till the Sakura flowers bloom, so it's good that i've seen this plum blossom below!
Beautiful Ume*梅 garden, on our way out...
