How to travel to KL and back from my house with RM3.70

Actually i am about to meet up a friend in Brickfields/KL Central area for discussion, as usual i'll try to walk slow and travel without driving whenever possible, especially into city center. Well, some quick photos plus little bit of descriptions will tell the whole picture.

Perhaps 11 a.m.? My journey starts with waiting for buses alone in the bus stop. Come on, nearly anyone AH KAU, AH MAT or AH MOI can probably owns a car in Malaysia. Gas is cheap (well, compare to majority of other countries). If you have few thousand downpayment and afford monthly installment of 4~7 hundreds, you can drive!

I hook on a Selangor bus, paid RM 1.40. Probably 40 years old bus, not sure really, but they are pretty wear off, that's all. Plenty of bus will hit Jalan Kepong, easily few buses every half hour. The bus will basically route Jalan Kepong, Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Tun Abdul Razak (TAR Road) before reaching central market area, it's final destination. You probably need to pay RM 2 ++ if you pick up those buses with air-conditioned, namely ParkMay, etc. Ain't good for you if you prefer "fresh" air and taking snap shots.

Nothing is interesting for me along Jalan Kepong, since i'm quite fimilar with this area and it's mainly a housing area. My camera awakes along the TAR road, attracted by scene like this Monorails track's distance to the building. Buffer zone, you said? They said, money. And some how, THEY don't seem to care.

Imagine this Coliseum building back in his heyday. Now, it's merely survived as a rolled-film theather, playing some Bollywood movie. We used to have this kinda chinese theather, but slowly it give ways to build-in cinema in major shopping center, TGV and GSC. The price, slightly more than double, hanging around 8 - 10 bucks.

Probably the most beautiful public toilet in Malaysia. On prime land, single storey, building itself (with nice finishes) would cost maybe half mil? Let alone the price of the land. DBLK could have make full use of the land into something else, like tourist center, exhibition hall, etc. Bty, this part of the TAR road, it's our Indian friend's "territory" :p

Once i'm at central market, i decided to spend some time to visit Moon, who works in a camera/photo processing shop nearby. We used to walk through this chinese temple, sat dowm for breakfast at the other side of this temple, namely along Jalan Pudu.

Can't resist to snap on this stricking yellow pre-war building. On the left is white tall Dayabumi building, nicely constructed with Islamic architecture concept.

Then, i took LRT(Light Rail Transit?) to KL Central station, which is just a station away. That's RM 1.00. Notice the KLCC Twin towers on the right. You can go there using the same train service. Have to 1USD, maybe, haha!

Capture this monk-in-action in the train. He's bald, of course, pardon my photo angle. I was hoping that he will draw out a laptop from his back and start banging on MSN, Google search. Mix of old and new, everywhere in the world. Transition generation, we? Wish i know more and can do more, somehow, something, anything!

Travel back to Kepong station from KL Central station, using KTM, slowest train service in town. Paid RM 1.30. To reach my house from here...bus number 11, we said. That means on foot, half hour! Still don't get it? Stand up now, look down, don't tell me number 1 guys, should have your pants on :p

Cheers!

Thanks for the "tour". I am surprised at lack of traffic and clear air. Is it usually like that? You take great pix.

You are most welcome, my friend. Usually traffic is bad only during rush hours, or after a big rain - - flash flood in the city, sometimes. Since there are traffics everywhere in the city, air quality is not so good, regardless the blue sky:) Come and you'll get what i mean, hehe!!!

'KTM, slowest train service in town'

I'd say... in the whole country?

Takes quite a bit of patience to ride this train...

Hey lrong my friend, don't mislead our readers -- Light Rail Transit or Monorail only exist in KL or Klang valley, so it's "in town", hehe!!!

And yes, patience is the first thing to learn for fellow "apprentice", while most people using it on daily basis are already a "master"!
