Day of Fruits
Last day in Raub is really special, because of one man - - Uncle Yue. Thanks to him, we get to visit some of his friends, who owns different fruit orchard. I'm getting myself "warm up" by taking close shots on some fruits around YM's house...
Custard Apple. I used to eat custard while i am still a kid, my neighbours have it in their backyard. Not a popular fruit in Malaysia, but delicious! Funny thing is, YM don't even know the presence of this tree in her backyard, until i show her this picture!
Rambutan, on the other hand, is much more popular. But i am not going to try one of these green rambutan, hehe...
Correct me if i am wrong, I suppose this fruit above is spanish lime. I've never tried it before, maybe YM can offer us another visit to try it :p
After our "branch" we head straight to for the first fruit of the day - - durian. Raub is famous with it's D24 durian, any durian lovers can tell you how good it is!
Now you see it, later you won't...
Surprisingly, durian orchard trip turn out to be an educational, cum the "blood donation" trip for those hungry mosquitoes! Just by looking at the leaves, experienced farmer can tell you what's wrong with this tree - - lack of nitrogen, needs more phosphorus, bla bla bla...And they order fertilizer online!
Bananas, is just one of the by-product at the durian orchard. They don't have only durian, just like how i found the coconut trees in oil palm estate, back in Morib, Klang.
Next stop - - Cocoa orchard.
This small cocoa orchard is actually situated besides the main road, and hence, next to the owner's house. Actually what we are looking for, is Water Apple! We tried the cocoa anyway, since it's not water apple's seasons.
Just before we went back to YM's house again, we stop by for our souvenirs - - Raub's peanuts. Not these two in the picture, of course!
