TFM + MNS + Fantastic Four

Some how, i still need to thanks Siva for getting late - - I dash to FRIM-Nature Education Centre(NEC) without my breakfast, thinking that we could sit down nicely at the cafeteria later.

To be honest, i have all the patient when i am in here, in the forest!

But i'm thanking her for an hour late because i earn some time to explore the Dipterocarp Arboretum, campsite and NEC area before she arrived, yet another part of FRIM that i'm not too fimilar with. I even managed to collect some dipterocarp seeds/fruit, particularly happy with the big Engkabang seed, nice!

Peaceful & Beautiful

Climb as high as the Dipterocarp tree can grow!

But the "main-actor" today is not Siva nor me - - say Hi to some 20 tamil primary school students!

Initially the Tamil Foundation Malaysia (TFM?) was trying to create an English-learning environment for the students, all of them from Tamil school, some distance away from KL city center. But with volunteers from Malaysia Nature Society (MNS) means they can learn about to nature, too!

It's a really good effort and combination from the Tamil Foundation and MNS!

Tamil Foundation may sound a little language-based, but my perspective changed when i saw what actually they did...

Make a circle, while holding your palm firmly...

"Do i have legs? Can i fly?"

Get on the trails, hunt for answers!

Answer may be here, but better leave our Mr. Pit Viper alone! :p

Pond skater, wolf spider, tadpole, talipia...you name it!

Fantastic Four? :p From Left: Siew Lan, Rokhini, Me, Siva

The bonus, really, was meeting up some new "fantastic" friends and volunteers! Siew Lan, came straight from up-north, Kedah, to meet us here. Yup, not KLCC or MidValley but straight to the humid forest!

She told us she never really like city life anyway, huh? :)

Rokhini is the girl to watch in TFM, well, if you holds the account books in your hand, that is! I thought she will only buried herself in all the numbers and financial stuff, really nice to see she working with the children!

And Siva, please, she is everywhere now. I'm just following your steps, so don't ask me questions like "Why there is a chinese guy in Tamil foundation's activity, guide from FRIM but here at MNS-NEC???" :p

As for MNS volunteers (Andy, May??), well, their are real Pro for me. Imagine - - I spent 4 years in university with engineering theories while they study Shorea sp., Dyera costulata, Intsia palembanica, bla bla bla...Much to learn from you guys, Yuroshiku Onegaishimasu (Please teach me without asking for tuition fees, haha)!

It's a shame that i couldn't join them for the rest of foudation's activities, 2 full days in the NEC. Night walk, canopy walk plus many more - - surely a good experience for those kids!

Hope Mr. Nice-guy Sami will call me up soon for their next activity!
