Weekend Blast

It all started with usual hang-out at FRIM, chit-chatting a little and ready to help out at the canopy. I have book with me so it will not be too bad reading at some 30 meter above the ground level, or do some talking as the guests crossing the third platform. Anyway I was offered to guide some people from, Din said, US Embassy. All four of them look tough, except for another gentleman who they address HIM ‘Sir’, all the time. Alright, they are from the navy, but we are in the forest, right? We were all having a good time because and of course, we talked not only about forest. But while I was with HIM all the time, it’s funny that we didn’t talk anything about space or alien or NASA or MARS.

HE later gave me a coined-plate souvenir, and said “this is my signature”. I read newspaper following day and it turns out is was Dr. Ronald M. Sega himself. I mean, SIR!

It all started when we arrived at Sungai Chongkak Recreational Forest, around 8 pm. We have to erect our camps with light source of few candles, have charcoal beer guitar and someone to crack lame jokes. Rain started half way through the barbeque, but no threat. Shifting the whole scene to a nearby gazebo, we continue our makan minum(eat and drink). It was a cold night, but you don’t mind spending few nights away from your warm bed. You gonna be on that bed some 364 days in a year, anyway.

I only manage to have a real look of the campsite and it’s surrounding, the next morning. Close enough to the city, and good bargain considering just RM1 for entrance fees. It could and should be free-of-charge, but that the problem living at the city, they get you to pay. While some people pays for conservation projects, we pay to keep rubbish away. Funny. Seems like we can do more than camping here, perhaps we should come back sometime in near future.

It all started with 2 hours ferry trip from Mersing town to Tioman Island. For the first time I travel with another avid photographer, who are able to find some of the best timing and angles – with me inside. I was sitting there, thinking about everything, or nothing. He captured that, wow.

Berjaya Resort was great, if you are not all out for diving. Most diver would have choose Salang village, but company trip is you have to compromise. Anyway we spent time snorkeling around Ringgis Island, a small island just few hundreds meter from the beach front. Other than that, I enjoyed the food and quiet swim in the pool, greets by magpie and myna every morning. Consider spotting monitor lizard crossing your huts to the main drain a surprise. They said if you see a magpie, that will be your romantic day. Romantic, indeed :)

It all start with browsing this website -- http://www.wiff.org.my/. In must be more fun volunteering in 2006 Wesak International Film Festival, rather just sit and watch those movies. It would make the whole experience more interactive, I guess.

Everything happens during weekends. Everything starts again, tomorrow. Wow.

Some statistic doesn't mean anything, until it happened to one of my friend. Mosquitoes kill. I will watch out, don't worry :)

Warm hugs for you yea!

You are, moody as usual? :))) Tioman is indeed unique, loved those mountains behind the resort. Gonna hike if I ever go again.

Oh I couldn't let my weekend slipped away, could I? And I finished few pages on top of the second platform, last week. Just few because of heavy 'traffic'.

You know where to find me if you need my help, right? :)
