Kinabalu Summit Push and Back

And...we crawl up to the summit 3 a.m. in the morning. We were blessed with good weather.

Trust me, we've never seen that many stars in the sky before. Me and few others were lucky enough to see 2 comets cut through the skyline! Next time i should bring a tripod, i guess :)

It's an experience that we will never forget!

So does the descent part.

Finally we realize how much we owe these nylon rope.

We have heard stories about people getting lost when sudden mist struck..."DON'T LET GO THE ROPE!" Sounds like a simple instruction, but people do funny things when they get panic, huh?

At the peak, ice melted less than 10,000 years ago, but this little yellow flowers survived. Rough search on the WWW gave me no clue of what the yellow thingy is.

Other than that, we were mesmerized by the scale of the granite plateau. So huge, you could hardly notice some "mankind" in this photo below...

Now you see it, now you don't!

...Shern Yau and the Southpeak...

...St. John's peak

Scenery might look a bit odd at the peak. Just look at the combination of St John's peak with the background behind...i thought i saw the parabolic shape of the earth!

South peak and the sacrifice pool, above. No dengue mosquito in this trapped still water, i guess!

From left: Yoke Meng, Canise, Sean and Loong at the back.

Shern Yau at right, Laban Rata rest house down under.

"I'm coming again, no matter what you guys says."

Shern Yau, telling me that when i took his photo above. We'll all do just that, i guess, haha!

The hotter, the better!

Back in Mount Kinabalu National Park HQ, we found hot Sabah tea and soup waiting.

Big reward after trekking in heavy rain for the last 3 KM!

(All photos thanks to Canise's camera! :p)

I haven't been there!! it's so beautiful! i'm sure the feeling of standing up there and looking down into nothingness is superb!

i wonder whether one day i have the chance to get there, and i wonder whether there's a chance to go to Tibet one day?

i wonder...

(p/s: how does Sabah Tea taste like?)

It's mesmerizing.

Expecially during the summit push in the wee hours of morning. I will bring a tripod next time!!!

Well, you can go where you like, my dear :) All you need is some planning, and money will come, don't worry!

I still have some Sabah tea with me, i can keep it till you're back!

But wait, for another year? Duh! I'll try my best ok? Hehe!!!
